BARBADOS (Naked Departure) — THE QUEEN’S PRISON DRAMA — Naked, strange things continue to happen at Dodds Prison in Barbados. Prison officers are being put under tremendous stress daily. Heads of prison are allowing office staff to dip money from they salary without they authorization. They have gone as far back as 1992 saying that they made mistakes with salary back then and now want to retrieve that money. Due to this craziness they are saying now that many cannot get vacation for the next 2 and some 3 years. I am hurt because I am going to work sick forcefully and cannot cope well, I feel as though I would collapse many days and my pressure continues to be always high. What about money that went missing from the office and was allowed to be arranged to pay back, what about Mrs Ellis Vaughn who married the ex prisoner Adrian Vaughn and the Superintendent at the time had her removed from working the blocks to the office to work with officers personal files. This officer even recently curse a nurse at the QEH. He has not as a leader tried to discipline these staff members he allow them to be guarded. Tell me really who is guarding the guard. What about a staff member who stole large sums of money from the Prison Officers association and still got promoted yet another staff who the superintendent had working in one of the offices. Sargeant in the prison are being told that after a certain amount of sick days they salary will be diverted to basic grade pay whether you like it or not. Where is the justice and fairness after giving of your best on a daily duty a stressful duty high risk of the job. I remember may times we had water problems and to urinate over other people’s feces and would flush with buckets of water while civilian staff had the luxuries of leaving work early even though they made sure the inmates satisfy the office with plenty of water. Many days they are only 2 officers to work a blocks it hurts. The superintendent have officers who should be assisting the blocks working in the offices doing what? They are always good at polishing up this. Why are they not strengthening the work done on the blocks? Back in the year 2001-2002 when a temporary officer went on leave they were informed by the office that they were not to take the sick certificate to the Nis because they would be paid from the Prison which they were. A few years after the prison tricked them and say they had to pay back that money because they made a mistake. How can we be comfortable when after working without a raise increase for eight years and going have to be also suffering from mental stress. How can one part of government be allowed to practice these fraudulent acts and get away with it? Other government departments operates different, how long are we going to suffer before something is done. An in depth investigation needs to be launched in the prison urgently. Do not look for any sympathy from the Superintendent of prison because he had told us before that he is a God and they are 2 lions in Barbados and he is the only one that roars. Anonymous
NB: Because Barbados is a third-world country that does not allow freedom of speech and freedom of information, Naked Departure is the vehicle where Barbadians, for the most part, can air their grievances and blog anonymously. Although Naked Departure asks for truth in reporting, ALL information is iterated and posted as alleged from Barbadian/Bajan/Bloggers. NAKED DEPARTURE IS ALSO PART OF AN ONGOING INVESTIGATION INTO THE CORRUPTION OF THE BARBADOS GOVERNMENT AND THE PEOPLE WHO HOLD TITLES OF NOBILITY.
No Statute of Limitations on the TRUTH. Sexual abuse is self abuse! Being DOCILE is a crime; it’s worse than being called a nigger; it’s an insult to the entire human experience!
BRIDGETOWN: During the time of slavery in Bridgetown, Barbados, it was the custom to torture a slave or slaves if there was a runaway. Most of the times a pregnant woman was chosen. She would be hung and then the unborn child would be ripped from her womb then crushed by the boots of the white man. All this was done in front of the other slaves to cause fear (NOW DOCILITY) and prevent more runaways (NOW LABOURERS). Post Traumatic Slave Disorder is real in Barbados. Naked Departure
